Tertius Zongo is the former Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, a position which he held from 2007 until 2011. Prior to this, Tertius served as Burkina Faso’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the USA from 2002 until 2007. He has also held a number of positions within the Burkinabe government including Minister of State for Planning and Budget and Minister of Economy and Finance.
Before his career in government, Tertius taught accounting, business economics and financial management at the University of Ouagadougou and the National School of Financial Controls in Burkina Faso. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Dakar, Senegal, in addition to a business management degree from the Institute of Business Management of Nantes, France.
