Pinar Korkmaz, Dr. Eng., is an experienced risk manager currently employed at EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG since May 2021. Prior to this role, Pinar Korkmaz worked as a graduate research assistant and PhD candidate at the Institute for Energy Economics and Rational Use of Energy at the University of Stuttgart from October 2016 to March 2021. Additional experience includes positions as a business developer in distributed energy at Statkraft from December 2013 to September 2016, a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in 2013, and a master thesis student at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in the same year. Pinar Korkmaz holds a Doctor of Engineering in Energy System and Analysis from the University of Stuttgart (2016-2023), a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Management from the University of Freiburg (2011-2013), and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (2006-2011). Education was completed at Isparta Süleyman Demirel Scientific High School (2002-2006).
