Aleida Rios Freng Fei Cheng

Aleida Rios FREng FEI ChEng serves as Vice President at the Energy Institute and is a Director at BP Pensions Limited since September 2020. At bp, Aleida has held several senior positions since 1996, including Senior Vice President Engineering, leading a global team of 3,000 discipline engineers and overseeing innovation, talent development, and engineering standards. Previous roles include Head of Upstream Engineering, where responsibilities encompassed the oversight of Chief Engineers in the Upstream sector, and VP of Operations for both Offshore Gulf of Mexico and Onshore North America Gas, managing operations and significant production targets. Aleida began the career at Amoco as a Plant Optimization Engineer before obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and completing an Executive Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
