Byron Bennett is an accomplished organic chemist with extensive experience in both academic and industrial settings. Currently employed at Energy Laboratories, Inc. since November 2016, Byron specializes in the chemical analysis of water, soil, and air, particularly focusing on the determination of pesticides and herbicides using HPLC. Prior to this role, Byron held various academic positions, including Assistant Professor at Idaho State University from July 2007 to June 2016, where research centered on the synthesis of modified bipyridines and metal complexes, and instruction in general, inorganic, and organometallic chemistry. Previous teaching roles included Associate Professor at Daytona Beach Community College and Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, with research interests in bipyridine synthesis and CO2 reduction catalysis. Byron's earlier academic career includes postdoctoral research fellowships at the University of Nevada Reno and the University of Utah, focusing on ligand synthesis. Byron earned a Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Cedarville University.
