Mike Thornton

Mike Thornton has extensive work experience in the energy and environmental sector. Mike is currently serving as the Chief Executive of Energy Saving Trust since April 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Group Operations Director at Energy Saving Trust from September 2016 to April 2020. Mike also served as the Director, Scotland at Energy Saving Trust from January 2003 to September 2016. Additionally, they are a Board member of the Heat & Energy Efficiency Scotland Independent Strategic Board at The Scottish Government since October 2022. Mike Thornton has also held various roles in other organizations, including Director at Warmworks since September 2015, Chair at Scottish Power Foundation since 2014, Director at Arbed am Byth since May 2018, Director at Lothian and Edinburgh Environmental Partnership from January 1992 to December 2002, Development Co-ordinator at Friends of the Earth (Scotland) from January 1988 to December 1991, and Software Research Engineer and Systems Analyst at Nestle from January 1981 to December 1987.

Mike Thornton holds a First Class Honours degree in Genetics from the University of Nottingham. The dates of their education are not specified.
