Hao Chen

Hao Chen, Ph.D., is a highly experienced Senior Pipeline Integrity Risk Engineer at Energy Transfer since January 2019, where responsibilities include leading risk programs for over 120,000 miles of pipelines, representing the company during federal and state audits, and implementing modern risk modeling techniques. Prior to this, Hao served as a Senior Risk Engineer and Project Manager at DNV from January 2015 to January 2019, managing pipeline risk assessments and mentoring junior engineers. Earlier roles included Risk Consultant and Process Safety and Risk Research Scientist, with significant contributions to safety projects and research funding. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. and Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
