Aleksandr Gelfond

Aleksandr Gelfond is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the nuclear energy sector. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering/Licensing for the Cask Division at EnergySolutions since June 2014, Gelfond ensures compliance with engineering and licensing requirements for low-level radioactive material casks regulated under transportation regulations. Previously, Gelfond worked at Holtec International from March 2006 to June 2014, holding various roles including Project Manager and Principal Engineer for the ISF-2 Chernobyl spent nuclear fuel dry storage project in Ukraine, where responsibilities included overseeing project scope, procurement, and engineering management. Gelfond's academic credentials include an MBA in Technology and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rowan University, as well as a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from The City College of New York. Gelfond holds professional certifications as a PE, PMP, and ASNT NDT Level III.
