Kequan Xu, PhD

Process Engineer at Enerpoly

Kequan Xu, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of applied electrochemistry and process engineering. From 2016 to 2021, as a Doctoral Student at KTH, they developed ultrathin ion selective membranes (ISEs) for subnanomolar detection of Ag+ ions in water resources. Kequan also explored the working mechanism of electrochemical sensors operated under accumulation/stripping voltammetric strategy and improved the resolution of sensors by adjusting their compositions. In addition, Kequan worked as a teaching and lab assistant for the master course "Applied Electrochemistry" at KTH CBH applied physics division. During this time, they developed expertise in measuring metal ions concentration in open water resources using ion selective membranes (ISEs) and electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, stripping voltammetry, and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). In their role as a Laboratory Assistant, Kequan supervised undergraduate students and provided support in various research projects. Currently, they are employed as a Process Engineer at Enerpoly since 2023.

Kequan Xu, PhD holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrochemistry from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, which was obtained from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology between 2013 and 2016. Kequan 'seducational background also includes a Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from the same institution, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Kequan Xu has obtained several certifications, such as Svenska som Andra Språk 3 from Skolverket in August 2022, and certifications in Python programming from Codecademy, including Learn Intermediate Python 3 Course, Learn Python 3 Course, and Analyze Data with Python Skill Path, which were all obtained in the year 2021.
