Matthew Smith started their work experience in 2015 as an Engineering Technician at iTECH, where they developed and troubleshooted battery management systems for medical devices. Matthew also designed and validated products and test scripts using microcontrollers. In 2017, they joined EnerSys as an Electrical Test Technician, where they developed and tested lithium-ion battery packs and battery management systems for various applications. Matthew then worked as an Electrical Engineer, qualifying human-space rated battery packs to industry standards and creating comprehensive documentation. In their most recent role at EnerSys, they served as the Lead Electrical Engineer, leading the design and development of electrical systems for aerospace battery projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Matthew Smith earned their Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics with a focus on Electrodynamics from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2015. Matthew went on to pursue a Masters degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at California State University, Northridge, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
