Jason Trafas has had a diverse range of work experience since 2015. Jason started out as a Sales and Maintenance employee at Livermore Cyclery, where they provided expertise to customers and learned the basics of bike maintenance. Jason then moved on to Fairhaven Bicycle, where they worked as a Bike Technician and was responsible for assembling bikes and communicating with customers to meet their requirements. In 2020, Jason worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Cypress Designs LLC, where they became familiar with the rotational molding process and suggested quality improvements. Jason also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Western Washington University, where they contributed to launching and testing a badge style curriculum related to earth abundant materials. Finally, in 2021, Jason worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where they developed a sub-assembly refurbishment program and quantified annual company savings.

Jason Trafas attended San Ramon Valley High School from 2014 to 2018, graduating with a High School Diploma. Jason then attended Western Washington University from 2018 to 2022, where they earned a degree in Polymer Materials Engineering. In 2021, they obtained a certification in the AIARE Rec 1 Avalanche Course from the American Alpine Institute Ltd.
