Axel Destremau

Axel Destremau is the Senior Director of Oil & Gas at Enerwhere. Axel has over 18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, holding various leadership positions throughout their career.

Destremau began their career in 2001 with Schlumberger, a leading oilfield services company. Axel spent 16 years with Schlumberger, eventually becoming the General Manager for China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. In this role, they were responsible for all operations in these four countries, with a P&L of over 700 million dollars and a staff of more than 3000 people. During their time with Schlumberger, Destremau was actively involved in the management of joint ventures with local partners, attending board meetings and leading the search and due diligence for new partnerships and acquisitions.

In 2017, Destremau left Schlumberger to join OilSERV as the Executive Vice President of Testing & QHSE. In this role, they focused on quality and safety initiatives, driving a change within the company to refocus on these areas. Axel was beginning to have an impact when COVID-19 hit and all of their focus shifted to crisis management and the handling of the pandemic. Under their leadership, OilSERV continued to operate in every country they worked in without disruption.

In 2020, Destremau joined Enerwhere as the Senior Director of Oil & Gas. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all oil and gas operations for the company.

Axel Destremau has a BS in Well Drilling/Driller from IFP School. Axel also has an MS in Science from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d'Aérotechnique and an MS in fluid mechanics from Oregon State University.

Their manager is Daniel Zywietz, Founder & CEO. Axel Destremau works with Hassan Shamma - Head, Data Analytics & R&D, Yavuz Perk - Head, Projects, and Alice Cowman - CFO.
