Namesh Hansjee

Namesh Hansjee has a strong and extensive work experience in the trading industry. Namesh is currently serving as the Head of Trading at Engelhart since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Trading at Rio Tinto from 2021 to 2023. From 2018 to 2021, Namesh held the role of Head of Merchant & Retail at Sembcorp Industries Ltd.

Before their time at Sembcorp, Namesh worked as a Consultant in Strategy and Market Entry at Energy Trading Consultancy from 2016 to 2018. Namesh also played a vital role in setting up a business at Energy Trading Venture from 2015 to 2018.

During their tenure at EDF Trading from 1999 to 2011, Namesh held various leadership roles including Head of Trading, Head of Cross Commodity Trading, and Head of Electricity Trading. Namesh was responsible for overseeing all trading activities globally and was a member of the management team.

Prior to EDF Trading, Namesh worked as a Trader at J.P. Morgan from 1996 to 1999. Namesh started their career at Shell in 1988, where they held various roles and traded in physical and derivative markets. These included managing equity North Sea crude production and refinery inputs/outputs, as well as middle distillates supply and optimization for the UK, Ireland, and France.

Namesh Hansjee attended Robert Gordon's College from 1980 to 1984, where they completed their high school education. After that, they studied at the University of Oxford from 1984 to 1988, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry.
