Project Director, SRHR Project at EngenderHealth

Meskerem Setegne has had a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare. Meskerem began their career as a Professional Midwife at Bensa HC in 2008, where they coordinated various maternal and child health activities. In 2009, they moved on to work as a Professional Midwife at Meshualekia HC, where they took on additional responsibilities such as participating in health center case presentation programs, providing emergency obstetric and neonatal care, and offering family planning services.

In 2011, Meskerem joined EngenderHealth as a Program Officer, assisting in the development of regional implementation plans and budgets for a comprehensive contraceptive and reproductive health services expansion project. Meskerem also provided training and technical support to service delivery sites, introduced quality improvement tools, and helped in community-level demand creation activities. Meskerem continued to contribute to EngenderHealth in various roles, including serving as a Regional Team Leader and eventually becoming the Project Director for a sexual and reproductive health and rights project.

Overall, Meskerem Setegne has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving maternal and child health, family planning services, and overall reproductive health outcomes through their work in both government and non-governmental organizations.

Meskerem Setegne attended Addis Ababa University until 2008, but the degree and field of study are unknown. Additionally, Meskerem Setegne obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Jimma University, with a focus on Public Health.
