Stefan van Niekerk is an experienced professional in the energy sector, currently serving as COO at ENGIE Africa, where responsibilities include managing and operating the company's renewable assets in South Africa. Prior to this role, Stefan held positions such as Director of Operations at BTE Renewables, leading the construction and operation of generating facilities across Africa, and General Manager at Kipeto Energy PLC, overseeing the construction of a 100MW wind facility in Kenya. A significant tenure at Worley included roles as Business Lead for Energy in East Africa and Project Director for the Lake Turkana Wind Power Project, where management of multiple contractors was key. Stefan holds a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from North-West University.
