Bineyame Yohannes Afework

Bineyame Yohannes Afework is an experienced software engineering professional currently serving as the Head of Software Engineering at ENGIE Energy Access (Africa) since October 2020. Previously, Bineyame held the position of Director of Software Engineering at Fenix International, where responsibilities included overseeing engineering teams and managing AWS platforms, web applications, and mobile applications. Bineyame has also served as a Software Engineering Manager at Vivacell and as a Senior Telecom VAS Development Engineer, focusing on service platforms and network performance. Earlier in the career, Bineyame contributed as Developer II at United Bank S.C., specializing in application development with ASP.NET and C#, and as a C# Developer at Infinite Dimensions PLC. Bineyame holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and two bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Addis Ababa University and Computer Science from Hilcoe School of Computer Science and Technology. Interests include scalable system design, containerization, container orchestration, CI/CD, and data pipelines.
