Hermann Ouinsou has a diverse range of work experience. Hermann began their career as a Statistician of research at the Centre de Recherche en Economie Appliquée et Management (CREAM) in 2015. Following that, they took on the role of Vice-President in charge of Marketing and Communication at AIESECinBENIN, where they were responsible for developing and implementing national marketing strategies, managing social media campaigns, and facilitating conferences. Hermann also worked as a Stagiaire at France Volontaires and as a Statistician consultant at NEHEMIA ORGANIZATION.

In 2017, they joined the Centre de Recherche et d'Appui-conseils pour le Développement (CRAD) as an Assistant Statistician and later worked as an Assistant in monitoring and evaluation at ONG RACINES. In 2018, they worked as the Head of the Statistics Department at GFCSTAT - Centre d’Appui à la Recherche et à la Gestion Financière et Comptable.

Since 2019, Hermann has been with ENGIE Energy Access (Africa), starting as a Business Intelligence Manager and later serving as the Head of Customer Finance at ENGIE Energy Access Benin. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Customer Finance & IT at ENGIE Energy Access Uganda.

Hermann Ouinsou completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Business Statistics at the Benin School of Applied Economics and Management from 2012 to 2015. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. In November 2017, they acquired the "Monitoring and Evaluation Fundamentals" certification from USAID. In June 2018, they obtained the "Certification en Suivi-Evaluation de genre dans les programmes de santé" certification, also from USAID. Continuing their education, in March 2021, they earned the "Applied Data Science I: Scientific Computing & Python (with honors)" certification from WorldQuant University. Subsequently, in June 2021, they achieved the "Applied Data Science II: Machine Learning & Statistical Analysis (with honors)" certification from the same institution. In August 2021, they completed the "Fundamentals of Credit" certification from Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI). Lastly, in June 2023, they obtained the "Answering Tough Questions As A Leader" certification from LinkedIn.
