Tim van Vliet's work experience includes various roles and positions in different companies. Tim is currently serving as the VP Venture Scale at ENGIE Factory Asia-Pacific since 2023. Before that, Tim was the CEO/Co-founder of INSEACT, a company that uses insects to produce sustainable proteins from palm oil waste. INSEACT was acquired in 2023. Prior to that, Tim worked as the Head of Asia Expansion at InnovaFeed from 2019 to 2020. Tim also founded Holland Milk B.V., a company that developed and marketed infant nutrition products in the highly regulated Chinese infant formula market. Tim's early career started in 2007 when they founded Chairexpert, an online office furniture sales platform that disrupted the market by under-pricing well-known brands. Tim also worked as an Advisor in a paid internship at Fursys in 2009.
Tim van Vliet pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from INSEAD in the year 2018-2019. Prior to that, they studied Chinese Mandarin at Tsinghua University in 2010-2011. In 2008-2009, Tim attended Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. Additionally, they obtained a degree in Trade Management Asia from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
