Olivier Vandelaer

Olivier Vandelaer has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Olivier currently holds the position of CIO at ENGIE Research & Innovation since February 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Human Resources, Digital Solutions, Communication & Marketing at ENGIE Laborelec, where they were responsible for various areas including people and organization, digital solutions, information systems, cybersecurity, and communication. In addition, they also held the role of Director - Industrial Cyber Security at ENGIE Laborelec, overseeing the operational leadership of the industrial cyber security competence center.

Vandelaer has also been involved in the World Economic Forum as a member, specifically focusing on cyber resilience in the electricity sector. Olivier contributed to initiatives related to creating cyber security awareness, regulatory context mapping, and supply chain security for energy product manufacturers.

Earlier in their career, Vandelaer held strategic and IT management roles at ENGIE, ENGIE Electrabel, Xpert Service, Proximus, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and KBC Bank & Verzekering. These roles encompassed responsibilities such as strategy development, IT service delivery, project management, business intelligence, and data integration consulting.

Olivier Vandelaer has a diverse education history. Olivier completed a Management Program at Vlerick Business School in 2010-2011. Olivier also participated in a Master Class Next Generation Leadership at Antwerp Management School in 2011-2012. Additionally, Olivier obtained certifications in Continuous Self Learning from Coursera in 2016, Information Technology from Vlaamse Ingenieurskamer in 2002-2003, Leadership & Change Management from GDF SUEZ University in 2010, and ITIL v3 Foundation from Opsys - SM2 (ISTYA) in 2008.
