Wim Alen

Wim Alen serves as the Chief Strategy & Business Development for ENGIE's Flexible Generation & Retail Global Business Unit, overseeing a significant portfolio that contributes to ENGIE’s Net Zero Carbon goal by 2045. With over 15 years of experience in the power sector, Wim has held various leadership roles within ENGIE, including Head of Strategy, M&A, and CAPEX for the Global Business Line Thermal, as well as Sub-regional Head of Asset Management for the Middle East and surrounding regions. Prior to ENGIE, Wim was General Secretary for the Middle East Solar Industry Association and worked in senior business development roles at GDF SUEZ Energy International, focusing on solar and geothermal projects. Educational qualifications include a Master in Finance from KU Leuven and an MBA from Université catholique de Louvain, complemented by a strong foundation in economics.
