Geoff Hurst has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Geoff is currently the Immediate Past President of the Risk Engineering Society at Engineers Australia, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they were the National President of the Risk Engineering Society from 2013 to 2022.

In 2013, Geoff Hurst founded ENGENEOHS where they worked as the Principal. Geoff specialized in OHS, Engineering, and Environment, providing comprehensive health, safety, and risk management services across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the Middle East.

Geoff Hurst also has experience as a Facilitator for Engineering Education Australia, a subsidiary of Engineers Australia. Here, they delivered courses and seminars focused on engineering and technical skills development, risk management, and professional development.

In the academic field, Geoff Hurst worked as an Associate Lecturer at Federation University Australia from 2013 to 2023, and as a Sessional Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology from 2018 to 2022. Geoff taught courses related to OHS risk management and civil engineering.

Geoff Hurst has also taken on leadership roles outside of Engineers Australia, such as serving as the Chair of the Victorian Chapter of the International Association of Facilitators from 2015 to 2017.

Earlier in their career, Geoff Hurst worked as a Senior Consultant at Enhance Solutions, providing occupational health and safety and risk management services to clients in various industries. Geoff was also involved with Victoria University as a Sessional Teacher, delivering OHS courses and managing occupational health and safety as the Manager. Additionally, they worked at Ford Motor Company as a Safety Specialist.

Throughout their career, Geoff Hurst has demonstrated expertise in risk engineering, facilitation, workplace culture change, and occupational health and safety.

Geoff Hurst FIEAust CPEng NER has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Monash University, obtained in 1974. Geoff also holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Victoria University, acquired from 1970-1973. In 1990-1992, Hurst pursued a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management from Federation University Australia. Additionally, they completed a Certificate in Business from Deakin University in 1998-1999. Hurst has also obtained the title of Fellow from the Institution of Engineers Australia and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Health & Safety.
