Zain Syed is a Biomedical Engineering graduate from Arizona State University, currently serving as a Research Laboratory Technician at Dr. Thurmon Lockhart’s Locomotion Research Laboratory within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering since May 2021. In addition, Zain Syed holds the position of K-12 Outreach Coordinator with Engineers Without Borders USA, starting in February 2023. Previous experience includes a role as Project Intern at Equilibrar, LLC from May to July 2022 and serving as Team Lead and Event Manager with Engineers Without Borders USA from January 2021 to May 2022. Zain Syed completed secondary education at Liberty High School, earning a high school diploma.

Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization established to support community-driven development programs worldwide through partnerships that design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while providing transformative experiences that enrich global perspectives and create responsible leaders. Today, more than two billion people lack access to the most basic things—clean drinking water, adequate sanitation, reliable passage to local markets and more. EWB-USA’s vision is a world in which the communities they serve have the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs.
