Alexey Volkov

Director, Biocatalysis at EnginZyme

Alexey Volkov has worked in various roles in the biocatalysis field since 2009. From 2009 to 2011, they were a PhD student at Moscow State University. From 2011 to 2016, they were a PhD student and researcher at Stockholm University. Alexey's research involved the development of catalytic systems for the selective reduction of amides under hydrosilylation conditions. In 2015, they were a Visiting Research Scholar at Boston College, where they participated in the development of the enantioselective additions of Allyl-B(pin) to ketones and α-ketoesters. From 2016 onwards, they have been working at EnginZyme, first as a Director of Biocatalysis, then as a Biocatalysis Group Leader, Project Manager, Lead Researcher and Researcher.

Alexey Volkov received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from Stockholm University in 2016. Alexey also earned a Licentiate degree in Organic Chemistry from Stockholm University in 2013. Before that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) in 2009.
