Ravi Akhoury

Ravi Akhoury is presently on the Board of Putnam Mutual Funds, a $140 billion asset management company. He also serves on the Board of RAGE Frameworks, a Business Process Automation and Big Data products and solutions company. Ravi is a former Advisor to New York Life and former Chairman and CEO of MacKay Shields, a multi-product investment management firm with approximately $40 billion of assets under management. He joined MacKay Shields as a Director in 1984. He was elected President in September of 1989 and Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer in 1992. Prior to joining MacKay Shields, Ravi spent four years with Fischer, Francis, Trees, and Watts as Vice President and Member of their Investment Policy Committee.

Ravi graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology with a BS in Engineering and obtained MS in Quantitative Methods from SUNY at Stony Brook. He is also a Trustee of the Rubin Museum and on the Investment Committee of The Rubin Museum. Ravi is on the Board of the American India Foundation. He has served on the Board of Bharti Telecom, the largest telecom company in India. He has also served on the Board of Thompson Press of the India Today Media Group.
