Bhavesh Shah

Conservation Scientist at English Heritage

Bhavesh Shah is a highly experienced conservation scientist currently employed at English Heritage since February 2024. Prior to this role, Bhavesh served as a Preventive Conservation & Data Scientist at the Victoria and Albert Museum from March 2007 to February 2024, where responsibilities included managing the museum's environmental monitoring system and conducting data analysis using techniques such as FTIR, EDXRF, UV-Vis, and microscopy. Bhavesh has also held various roles, including Secretary at Young Jains, a registered charity promoting Jain philosophy, and Membership Officer at Museum Detox. Earlier experience includes working as a Laboratory Assistant at Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, focusing on sample preparation and patient data management. Bhavesh holds an MSc in Data Science for Cultural Heritage from UCL and an MChem in Chemistry from Nottingham Trent University.
