Michael Klemperer

Michael Klemperer is a seasoned professional in gardens and landscape management, currently serving as Senior Gardens Curator for English Heritage since May 2015, overseeing 13 sites in the North and Midlands. Prior experience includes serving as Estate Manager at Wentworth Castle Heritage Trust, where major projects were managed from May 2008 to May 2015, and holding the position of Park Manager at Cusworth Hall DMBC from 2005 to May 2008, focusing on team building and project management. Michael Klemperer began a career in academia at the University of Sheffield from 1991 to 2005, engaging in student tutoring, lecturing, and commercial archaeology projects. Academic credentials include a PhD in Landscape Archaeology, an MA in Landscape Archaeology, and a BA Hons 1st Class in Archaeology from The University of Sheffield, along with distinguished horticultural qualifications from Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and Pershore College of Horticulture.
