Machine Learning Engineer at Enigma

Guilherme de Oliveira has a diverse work experience in the fields of machine learning, data science, and academia. Guilherme is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Enigma Technologies, Inc. since March 2022. Prior to this, they were a Lecturer in Applied Analytics at Columbia University in the City of New York starting in September 2018. Guilherme also served as a Data Scientist at Ready Responders from June 2020 to March 2022, and as a Lead Data Scientist at Nautilus Labs from April 2019 to April 2020. Before joining Nautilus Labs, they worked as a Data Scientist at Dataiku from October 2016 to April 2019.

In addition to their industry experience, Guilherme has also contributed to academia. Guilherme was a Fellow at Insight Data Science from May 2016 to September 2016, where they developed an application for federal agencies using natural language processing (NLP) to generate text summaries of public comments on government regulations.

Prior to transitioning to the data science field, Guilherme worked at MSCI Inc. as an Application Developer from July 2010 to May 2016, and at Measurisk as an Operations Analyst from March 2008 to July 2010.

Before their industry roles, Guilherme gained teaching experience as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute from August 2006 to May 2007, where they taught Calculus courses and managed a team of teaching assistants. Guilherme also worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from September 2001 to August 2006.

Guilherme de Oliveira completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan between 1993 and 1997. Guilherme then pursued further studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they obtained their Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from 2001 to 2003. Guilherme continued their education at the same institute and completed their Ph.D. in Mathematics from 2003 to 2006.
