Panagiotis Barkas is a seasoned policy officer currently serving at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy. Previously, Panagiotis held significant roles at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), focusing on investor protection and sustainable finance, where key contributions included coordinating a data-driven work stream and authoring critical methodologies. With a background that includes positions as an Economic Affairs Officer at the World Trade Organization and a Policy Analyst at OECD, Panagiotis has extensive expertise in economic policy, regulatory frameworks, and international trade. Panagiotis holds a PhD in Economics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon and further academic qualifications from the University of Cambridge and Athens University of Economics and Business.
