Xia Cao

Scientist II - VHH Phage Display at Enlaza Therapeutics

Xia Cao has over 25 years of work experience in the field of scientific research and development. Xia is currently working as a Scientist II at Enlaza Therapeutics, starting in June 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc. for 8 years, starting in July 2015. During their time at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc., Xia led multiple antibody discovery efforts, including the discovery of antibodies for therapeutic development and the discovery of COVID-19 neutralizing antibodies. Xia also worked at Takeda as an Associate Scientist in Molecular Biology from February 2014 to May 2015, where they constructed expression vectors and generated stable antigen-expressed cell lines. Before that, they worked at Pfizer as a Scientist in Peptide Phage Display from November 2010 to May 2013. Xia's earlier work experience includes roles at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute and Singapore General Hospital, where they made significant contributions in peptide phage display research, as well as colorectal cancer research. At Singapore General Hospital, they mentored junior scientists and provided scientific guidance.

Xia Cao has a strong education background in the field of biological sciences. Xia obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Sun Yat-sen University in 1986. Later, Xia Cao pursued a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the same university, completing it in 1989. Xia furthered their academic achievements by earning another Master's degree, this time in Microbiology Biology, from the National University of Singapore, which they received in 1995. Overall, Xia Cao possesses a comprehensive education history in the field of biology, specializing in areas such as biochemistry, molecular biology, and microbiology.
