Cindi Monahan joined the Pratt Library as Director of Institutional Advancement in October 2014. She oversees all private support for the Library including gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, as well as all fundraising campaigns and affinity giving groups. She leads two major fundraising events each year, the Black & White Party and Mr. Pratt Presents, and strengthens strategic partnerships that advance the mission and work of the Library. Under Cindi's leadership, contributed income has more than doubled.
Cindi and her team have expanded partnerships and financial resources to launch several important new initiatives including the Mobile Job Center, One Book Baltimore, Social Worker in the Library, and Books forMe. Cindi will continue to work to expand private funding to meet the growing demand for free programming and resources.
Cindi enjoys that the Library is a resource for all of Baltimore regardless of status or background. She finds working to provide crucial, potentially life-changing resources to the shared community to be extremely gratifying.
Prior to this role Cindi was Director of Development at Center Stage Baltimore. She has been a peer evaluator for the Maryland State Arts Council, co-chair of Expressions Family Edition at Baltimore School for the Arts, and has served on the Boards of the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance and Gilman School. Cindi holds a Bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Masters in School Psychology from Towson University.
