Renate Egan

Renate Egan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of renewable energy and solar technology. Renate has held various roles in different organizations throughout their career.

In 2004, they joined CSG Solar Pty Ltd as the Technology Director and later became the Managing Director in 2009. Renate also served as the Chief Technology Officer at CSG Solar AG from 2008 to 2011.

In 2011, Renate Egan became the Managing Director at Suntech R&D Australia Pty Ltd, a position they held until 2014.

In 2013, they co-founded Solar Analytics Pty Ltd, an Australian start-up focused on energy monitoring for solar homeowners. Renate served as the Co-Founder and Chair of the Board.

Renate Egan has also been involved in consultancy and business development. Renate was a Partner at Solinno Pty Ltd, an engineering consultancy, from 2014 onwards. Renate was responsible for business development and consulting.

Furthermore, Renate Egan has actively contributed to the renewable energy sector through leadership roles. Renate served as the Secretary of the Australian PV Institute (APVI) from 2020 onwards, previously serving as the Chair from 2014 to 2020. Renate also represented Australia in the International Energy Agency on PV Power Systems.

Additionally, Renate Egan has been involved in academic and research institutions. Renate led the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP) at UNSW from 2014, where they managed projects and coordinated activities with funding agencies and other universities. Renate also held the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer at UNSW Energy Institute from July 2022 to December 2022.

Most recently, in 2023, Renate Egan was appointed as the Co-Chair of the India-Australia Taskforce on accelerating the rollout of solar PV and clean supply chains, representing Australia.

Renate Egan completed a Graduate course in Company Directors from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2011. Prior to that, they pursued a Ph.D. in Physics from Macquarie University from 1984 to 1992.
