Derek Weast

Electrical Engineer at ENSCO

Derek Weast has a diverse background in electrical engineering and optimization operations. Derek started their career at Wegmans Food Markets as a part-time produce employee, where they provided excellent customer service and trained new employees. Derek then worked as a hardware engineering intern at Northrop Grumman, testing and troubleshooting power converter boards and designing interconnecting cable schematics. Derek also gained experience as an undergraduate research assistant at Penn State University, conducting HSPICE simulations and presenting research findings at a conference. Derek further enhanced their skills as a controls engineer intern at General Motors, writing PLC programs and improving stamping press processes. At 3M, Derek worked as an optimized operations engineer, leading Six Sigma projects, writing scripts for data analysis, and training production operators. Most recently, they worked at Figure Engineering as an electrical engineer, designing and testing PCBs for electrochemical sensors and developing system architecture for automating stenciling processes. Derek's work experience demonstrates their proficiency in electrical engineering, optimization, and project management.
