Joshua Nichols

Staff Scientist/task Lead at ENSCO

Joshua Nichols has extensive work experience in the field of geophysics. Joshua started their career as a Professional Engineering Intern at Kraft Foods, where they focused on addressing safety and ergonomic issues and creating a system to remove cups of yogurt with misplaced lids. Joshua then worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University, where they investigated the rheological properties of high-pressure phases of olivine.

Afterwards, Nichols served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Boise State University, specializing in near-surface geophysics and using ground-penetrating radar to develop subsurface models. Joshua'sresearch focused on water content and storage in temperate glaciers.

Moving forward, Nichols joined Schlumberger as a Geophysicist in the Geosolutions team, where they processed seismic data from the Gulf of Mexico and tested geophysical algorithms to optimize subsurface images. Joshua later moved on to become a Project Leader at PTS Geosolutions, managing a team of geophysicists and computer resources for producing high-quality 3D seismic images. Joshua was responsible for client relationships, project costs and timelines, and ensuring the geophysical integrity of the data.

Most recently, Nichols worked as a Staff Scientist and Task Lead at ENSCO, Inc. Unfortunately, no further details regarding their responsibilities were provided.

Joshua Nichols completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mechanical Engineering at Clarkson University from 2002 to 2006. Joshua then pursued a Master of Science degree in Geophysics at Boise State University from 2006 to 2010. In addition, they obtained the certification of Engineer-In-Training from the New York State institution in August 2006.
