Ken Starks has a strong background in information systems security engineering and cyber security. Ken currently works at ENSCO, Inc. as a Staff Information Systems Security Engineer, where they lead a team in providing cyber security expertise and securing cyber capabilities within a commercial cloud architecture. Ken built the cyber program from scratch and developed policies, governance, and procedures to ensure a sustainable defense posture.
Prior to their current role, Ken held various positions in the United States Air Force. Ken served as the Head of Cyber Security for a weapon system Program Office, leading cybersecurity actions for 141 personnel protecting $500 million in assets against cyber threats. Ken also served as the Director of Operations for a $15 million Defensive Cyber Operations program, where they directed operational activities and incident response actions across a team of geographically dispersed personnel. Additionally, Ken served as the Deputy Commander, responsible for daily operations and maintenance activities for a team of cyber professionals, and as a Cyber Security Manager, overseeing network service restoration, web development, and system design and integration.
Before joining the Air Force, Ken served as an Information Technology Specialist for 12 years, gaining experience in network engineering, Cisco router and switch configuration and maintenance, and executive communications support.
Ken Starks holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Information Security from Saint Leo University. Ken completed this program between 2011 and 2013. Prior to their MBA, Ken Starks earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Professional Aeronautics, with a minor in Aviation Safety, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Ken completed this undergraduate program between 2003 and 2007.
