Emil Christian Fischer is a Senior Scientist and Team Leader for the high-throughput screening team at Ensoma, where the focus is on developing new gene editing tools for genetic diseases through computational biology and large DNA library screening. Previous experience includes serving as a Scientist and Team Leader at Twelve Bio, conducting high-throughput screening of combinatorial libraries for protein engineering, and working as a PhD Student at The Scripps Research Institute, where work involved encoding unnatural amino acids in semisynthetic Escherichia coli. Emil has also contributed to projects at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability and served as a Visiting Researcher at the University of California, Davis. Emil holds a PhD in Chemical and Biological Sciences from Scripps Research, along with multiple degrees in Biology-Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen.
