Robert Policastro

Robert Policastro, PhD, is an experienced computational biologist currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Ensoma since June 2023, focusing on building internal computational infrastructure and advancing in vivo gene editing. Prior to this role, Robert worked at eGenesis, Inc. from June 2021 to May 2023, first as Scientist I and later as Scientist II, where contributions included advancing xenotransplantation research and establishing best practices for the computational team. Robert's academic background includes a PhD in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics from Indiana University Bloomington, where research involved yeast genetics and next-generation sequencing. Additional experience includes roles as Associate Instructor in molecular biology and research positions at Stony Brook University and the University of Rochester, demonstrating a strong foundation in molecular biology, functional genomics, and teaching.
