Kuo Hau Chan

Kuo Hau Chan has extensive experience in the field of information security and risk management. Kuo Hau is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Enterprise Singapore, where they lead the development of cybersecurity strategies and plans. Prior to that, they worked at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) as the Head of Security and Risk Management, where they designed information security frameworks and led the implementation of secure software development practices. Kuo Hau also played a significant role in the adoption of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies at EDB.

Before joining EDB, Chan worked at TechnipFMC as the Regional Datacenter Manager, overseeing datacenter operations in the APAC region. Kuo Hau focused on standardizing IT services and transforming infrastructure to a more cost-effective and agile HyperConverged Infrastructure.

Prior to their role at TechnipFMC, Chan worked at FMC Technologies as the Assistant IT Manager, where they led and managed IT operations for the APAC region. Kuo Hau was responsible for ensuring high service availability and delivering on objectives and initiatives. Kuo Hau also played a key role in in-sourcing infrastructure services from a managed service provider.

Chan began their career at Energy Market Company as a Senior Systems Engineer and later worked at the Health Sciences Authority as an IT Officer.

Kuo Hau Chan has a diverse education history. In 1997, they began their studies at Singapore Polytechnic, where they pursued a Diploma in Computer Information Systems. Kuo Hau completed their studies there in 2000. After that, in 2004, they attended the University of Portsmouth for a year, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sciences in Computing.

In addition to their formal education, Kuo Hau Chan has obtained various certifications. In 2016, they earned the ITIL Foundation certification from EXIN. In 2018, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². In 2020, they earned the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer™ (CDPSE™) certification from ISACA. In 2021, they obtained several certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control™ (CRISC), and Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) certifications, all from ISACA and Scrum Alliance respectively. Most recently, in 2022, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Although Kuo Hau Chan has mentioned the certifications they have obtained, there is no specific information about their completion of additional degrees or courses, such as the CCNA certification and MCSA (Exchange & Security) certification from Cisco and Microsoft, respectively.
