Giulio Calacoci

Giulio Calacoci has a diverse and extensive work experience. Giulio began their career as a Help Desk Technician at Basis in 2002, providing technical support to both Italian and foreign users. Giulio then worked as a Chief Web Application Developer at grafica-web, leading a team to create impactful web applications. In 2009, Giulio joined Devise.IT s.r.l. as a Software Analyst, specializing in frontend and backend development.

In 2011, Giulio started working at 2ndQuadrant, initially as a Python Developer, contributing to internal and open-source projects. Giulio later became a PostgreSQL consultant, specializing in disaster recovery solutions and providing consultancy, training, and support. Giulio also developed a Continuous Delivery framework using Jenkins to automate package building and distribution processes.

Currently, Giulio is working at EDB as a Principal DevOps Architect. Giulio played a crucial role in merging the software delivery infrastructures of EDB and 2ndQuadrant after an acquisition. Giulio designed and developed a fully automated cloud continuous delivery framework based on GitHub actions, AWS, and Cloudsmith. This framework enables EDB to build and publish packages for various platforms and architectures for all their products.

Giulio Calacoci completed their education at Liceo Classico from 1996 to 2002, earning a Diploma di Liceo with a focus on Latin, Greek, Italian Literature, philosophy, and History. Giulio then enrolled at Università degli Studi di Firenze in 2002, majoring in Computer Science. In addition, Giulio holds a certification in Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning from LinkedIn, obtained in 2023.
