Karin Hinzer

Karin Hinzer is currently the Vice-Dean of Research at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Engineering. Karin also holds the position of University Research Chair in Photonic Devices for Energy and is a Professor and Associate Professor at the university. Additionally, Karin is the Canada Research Chair in Photonic Nanostructures and Integrated Devices. Alongside their academic career, Karin is the Co-founder and President of Enurgen, a sustainable energy software company. Prior to their current roles, Karin worked as an Optoelectronics Designer at Bookham and as a Laser Designer at Nortel. Karin completed their PhD in Semiconductors and a Master of Science in Physics at the University of Ottawa.
