Sarah Greene

Research Director, Demographic Data at Environics Analytics

Sarah Greene has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and organizations. Sarah began their career as a Cashier/Sales Associate at Fabricland Distributors from September 2007 to July 2010. Sarah then worked as a Sales Associate at Party Supply Depot from September 2010 to November 2010.

In 2013, Sarah joined the University of Waterloo, where they served as a Marketing and Research Assistant from January 2013 to April 2013. Sarah later took on roles at the university as a GIS Library Technician from September 2013 to December 2013, an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant from May 2015 to August 2015, and a Geospatial Centre Staff member from January 2014 to April 2016. Sarah also worked as an Open Data Researcher in collaboration with Dr. Peter Johnson from September 2015 to April 2016.

In 2014 and 2015, Sarah had internship positions as a GIS Technician at York Region (The Regional Municipality of York) from May 2014 to August 2014 and from January 2015 to April 2015, respectively. In these roles, they assisted clients with GIS-related inquiries, conducted QA/QC on parcel data, and documented meeting minutes.

Sarah's most recent employment is with Environics Analytics, starting in September 2017. Sarah initially worked as a Research Associate until January 2020, then advanced to a Senior Research Associate until January 2022. Currently, they hold a position as a Research Director of Demographic Data, starting in January 2022.

During their time as a Data Development Intern at Environics Analytics from January 2017 to August 2017, Sarah developed a database using Microsoft SQL Server, created a user-friendly form for database entries through Microsoft Access, and automated data collection through web scraping.

Additionally, Sarah worked as a Graduate Assistant at Ryerson University from September 2016 to April 2017. Throughout their work experience, Sarah has acquired a range of skills in research, data analysis, GIS, and project management.

Sarah Greene completed their Master's of Spatial Analysis at Ryerson University from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Environmental Studies with a co-operative education at the University of Waterloo from 2011 to 2016, specializing in Geography and Environmental Management.
