Ellen Montgomery

Public Lands Campaign Director at Environment America

Ellen Montgomery has a diverse work experience in environmental advocacy and campaign management. Ellen started their career as a Policy Associate at Frontier Group, a non-profit think tank, in 2002. Ellen then worked at The Student PIRGs, where they initially served as an Administrative Assistant and later became the Associate National Campus Organizing Director from 2008 to 2013.

Following that, Ellen joined The Public Interest Network as the Recruitment Department Managing Director from 2013 to 2014. Ellen then worked at Work for Progress as the Recruitment Managing Director in 2014 and as a Colorado State Director in 2018.

Ellen has also held positions at We Are Impact as a Field Director from 2015 to 2019, at Environment Colorado as a Field Director from 2016 to 2020, and at Environment Iowa as a Field Director from 2019 to 2020.

Ellen'srecent experience includes working for the Fund for the Public Interest as part of the National Canvass Team in 2021. Currently, they serve as the Public Lands Campaign Director at Environment America starting from November 2020.

Ellen Montgomery obtained their Bachelor's Degree from Oberlin College, majoring in Politics with a concentration in Political Theory. Ellen attended the college from 1997 to 2001.
