Alex Morgan

Alex Morgan is an experienced professional in policy planning and biodiversity management, currently serving as the Team Leader for Biodiversity and Biosecurity Strategy and Principal Planner at Environment Canterbury since September 2020. Previous roles include Team Leader and Acting Manager of Policy and Planning at Environment Southland from May 2017 to September 2020, and significant positions at the Department of Transport and Main Roads, where Alex managed complex projects related to transport infrastructure and legislative reform from 2011 to 2017. Additionally, Alex held advisory roles in legislation reform at the Department of State Development, Infrastructure & Planning and began a career as a Graduate Policy Officer. Alex holds Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Science (with a focus on Urban and Regional Planning) and Law from Griffith University, completed in 2010.
