Derek Thomas

Derek Thomas possesses extensive experience in vegetation maintenance and utility forestry, currently serving as a Utility Forester at Environmental Consultants (ECI) since September 2018. Responsibilities include planning and overseeing vegetation management work, providing safety oversight, and collaborating with tree crews. Derek has held various roles, including EAB Lead Work Planner, where leadership involved training and organizing data for a team of planners, as well as EAB Work Planner, focusing on ash tree removals and stakeholder communication. Previous positions include auditing vendor work as a Distribution Forester and validating data as a Field Technician Specialist for the Emerald Ash Borer project.
