Samantha Schmitz currently serves as Project Manager for DC Events & Policy at the Environmental Defense Fund, leading community outreach and policy engagement initiatives focused on environmental justice in the DMV area. With a background in public policy and climate action, Samantha's experience includes roles such as Research Assistant at The Jefferson Institute, where support was provided on social issues like education and health equity, and as a Fellow at the World Resources Institute, working on national climate ambitions. Additional contributions to environmental advocacy include participation as a Future Climate Leader at The Aspen Institute and previous fellowships with the Environmental Defense Fund's Moms Clean Air Force, as well as engagement in various consultancy and outreach roles ranging from corporate social responsibility to sustainable development research at Harvard University. Equipped with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard University, Samantha combines academic knowledge with practical experience in fostering innovative solutions for pressing environmental challenges.
