John Henry Burns

John Henry Burns has extensive work experience in the field of environmental science and engineering. John Henry'smost recent role is as a Technology Services Lead at Environmental Science Associates, where they started in December 2021. Prior to that, they worked at ESA Sitka from 2016 to 2022, serving as a Senior Product Owner.

Before joining ESA Sitka, John worked at Sitka Technology Group as a Senior Software Engineer from 2015 to 2016. John Henry also has experience working for the City of Portland, where they held various roles between 2004 and 2015. These roles included Civil Engineer, Senior Engineering Associate, and Engineering Technician II. During their time at the City of Portland, John specialized in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling of urban infrastructure, software development, GIS analysis, and project management for green infrastructure and stormwater management planning.

Additionally, John worked at DHI as an Urban Hydraulic and Hydrologic Engineer from 2008 to 2010. In this role, they provided modeling of urban and natural water systems, developed decision support system interfaces, and conducted custom software development in C#.
