David Thal

David Thal has extensive work experience in the environmental consulting and testing industry. David began their career in 1991 at TestAmerica Laboratories, where they served as the Operations Manager for Sediments and Tissues. In 2010, Thal joined Environmental Standards, Inc./Vitale Scientific Associates, a consulting firm specializing in environmental chemistry, geosciences, risk assessment, and environmental data management. During their time there, they held various roles, including Senior Chemist, Quality Assurance Specialist, Associate Principal, and ultimately Principal Chemist (Environmental Standards) / Director (Vitale Scientific Associates). Thal's expertise lies in applying emerging technologies to address corporate environmental liability.

David Thal has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, which they obtained from 1985 to 1988. David also pursued Graduate Coursework in Research Design and Counseling Psychology at the same university from 1978 to 1979. Prior to this, they earned their first Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, attending from 1973 to 1977.

In addition to their academic degrees, David Thal holds several certifications. David became a Certified Food Scientist through the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) in March 2015. David obtained the certification of Certified Quality Auditor from the American Association for Quality in December 2014. Lastly, in May 2013, they became a Certified Environmental Analytical Chemist through the National Registry of Environmental Chemists.
