Steve Brauner

Steve Brauner has over 19 years of work experience in the environmental engineering and consulting industry. Steve is currently working at Environmental Works Inc. as an Environmental Engineer and Colorado Market Manager. In this role, they serve as the Technical Director and Design Engineer for various environmental restoration and stormwater management projects. Steve also acts as a Senior Project Manager, providing leadership and mentoring for the successful completion of projects.

Steve specialized in the use of enhanced bioremediation and abiotic degradation techniques.

Furthermore, Steve worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Virginia Tech. Here, they developed the Natural Attenuation Software (NAS) tool, which assisted in evaluating the effectiveness and required duration for monitored natural attenuation-based remedies at contaminated sites.

Steve Brauner completed their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, from 1989 to 1993. Steve then pursued a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech, which they completed from 1993 to 2000. In addition to their degrees, Steve has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Steve achieved their OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification in August 2006, and later obtained their OSHA HAZWOPER Training certification (with Supervisor Training) in September 2001. Steve also holds a NCEES Record certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, obtained in April 2015. Furthermore, they are a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in multiple states, including Kansas (obtained in March 2015), North Carolina (obtained in February 2017), Colorado (obtained in January 2011), and Arkansas (obtained in February 2019). Steve's most recent PE license was obtained in January 2018 from the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration.
