The Criminal Law Managing Attorney should have over ten (10) years of criminal defense experience and be licensed to practice law in Washington State and be admitted to the Federal Bar. This attorney plays a vital role in helping people navigate the criminal justice system through all stages of the process, including pre-charge, pretrial and trial proceedings. This attorney will work with clients charged with extremely serious crimes with a goal to provide the best possible results. This attorney will supervise and mentor the criminal trial attorneys, criminal coverage attorney and criminal paralegal. This attorney will work cooperatively with the Intake department to screen cases and will provide quotes for potential new clients. This attorney will work cooperatively with the Marketing department to identify possible areas for advertising and improve the online presence of the firm. This attorney must have the ability to bill 6 hours a day. The attorney should be able to maintain a highly motivated team that is prepared to meet and exceed company goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and guidance to the criminal trial attorneys, criminal

coverage attorney and criminal paralegal(s).

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor criminal attorneys and paralegal(s).

• Provide quotes to the Intake team for potential new clients.

• Review potential new cases to determine the firm’s ability to represent the

potential client.

• Work cooperatively with the Marketing department regarding the firm’s

online presence.

• Work cooperatively with Accounting regarding refunds, trust balances or

other financial issues.

• Oversee the caseloads of the criminal attorneys and the workload of the

criminal paralegal(s).

• Assign new clients to the attorneys and provide new client instructions to

the paralegal(s).

• Track and assist with client complaints or refund requests.

• Handle cases from pre-charge representation through trial.

• Communicate with clients and advise clients at key junctures so they fully

understand their options and can make fully informed decisions.

• Provide representation for clients in court on legal cases as it pertains to

criminal law.

• Provide representation for clients in administrative proceedings such as

Department of Licensing hearings.

• Uphold a steady schedule of hearings, court appearances and meetings.

• Proactively maintain and manage calendar.

• Involvement with trial proceedings working with support staff in

organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses and

ensuring that witnesses are ready and prepared when needed.

• Attend trials and court proceedings.

• Oversee and analyze discovery and legal pleadings drafted by the legal

team and provide feedback and guidance to create stronger work product

and streamlined processes.

• Research and draft motions and legal documents.

• Bill six (6) billable hours on each business day.

• Update clients regularly about their cases.
