The Criminal Law Litigation Paralegal should have over five (5) years of criminal law experience and have a paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies. This paralegal plays a vital role in helping people navigate the criminal justice system through all stages of the process, including pre-charge, pretrial and trial proceedings. This paralegal must have the ability to support multiple attorneys that practice in a number of courts and jurisdictions. This paralegal must have the ability to bill 6 hours a day. This paralegal should be highly motivated and prepared to meet and exceed company goals.

• None.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Draft various legal documents.

• Discuss case details with attorneys and clients.

• Maintain communication with the client as point of first contact.

• Organize and manage physical and electronic client files.

• Prepare attorney’s trial binders.

• Communicating with courts, vendors, experts, opposing counsel,

prosecutor’s office and other staff.

• Request transcripts from court reporters.

• Obtain filed pleadings and documents from various courts.

• File documents and pleadings with the court via fax, mail or e-file.

• Review and analyze local court rules.

• Locate governing law per attorney request (statutes, cases, rules and

regulations).

• Review court docket and calendar for updated information and hearings.

• Receive and process incoming discovery.

• Bill six (6) billable hours on each business day.

• Update clients regularly about their cases.
