Carmen Pla has over 20 years of experience in revenue cycle management. Carmen is currently serving as the SVP RCM at Envision Healthcare since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University starting in 2011. From 2016 to 2022, Carmen held various leadership roles at MEDNAX National Medical Group, including National Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management and Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management. Carmen was responsible for overseeing revenue cycle operations and implementing strategies to reduce denials and increase revenue. Prior to that, Carmen worked as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations at Accretive Health from 2014 to 2016. Carmen also gained valuable experience as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle and Administrator of Access Management at Jackson Health System from 2007 to 2014. Carmen started their career at Tenet Healthcare as the Director of Revenue Cycle Services, where they provided business insights and managed a large team.

Carmen Pla obtained a Doctor of Health Science degree in Health Services from Nova Southeastern University between 2013 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed an MBA degree in Health Services Administration at Capella University from 2008 to 2010. Carmen also holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Capella University, which they acquired in 2006 and 2007.
