Sharon Ray

Sharon Ray serves as Head of DEI for Envoy Global. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of programs and services that promote DEI initiatives within Envoy Global.

Ray has nearly 20 years of experience implementing proven people and human capital management strategies and perspectives for start-ups and large companies, including Kraft Foods, Emmi Solutions and Solstice Consulting. She spent 15 years at Kraft Foods in various HR roles, identifying gaps in diversity and work life and implementing strategies to close the gaps, resulting in substantial employee retention improvements.

As Vice President of Human Resources for Emmi Solutions, LLC, Ray transformed the HR function to provide strategic direction for this early-stage organization. She also led a culture transformation as Chief People Officer at Solstice Consulting, restructuring the People organization to ensure a cohesive approach to delivery service to support an organization that did not have a management structure.

In addition to her role at Envoy, Ray is the founder and CEO of S. Thompson & Associates, a consultancy helping organizations develop and optimize HR strategies and practices. She advises on areas including new hire procedures and processes, benefit and payroll software recommendations, employee manuals and policies and more.

Ray earned a B.A. in communications from Morehead State University. She is a mother of two boys – perhaps the ultimate people-management challenge of all.
